Campi Stellati exhibition

The adventure among the roads to the stars begins from the "Starry Fields"

Our artistic project is a tribute to the scientific research that challenges the open spaces of the sky to search for new routes, along which human travels and subjects aim to conquer the knowledge and, with some better chance, to comfort the hope of a better quality of life for the time of continuity.

The Terra di Lavoro, a vast area of the province of Caserta, in Italy, is famous for its fertile soils and the fields full of roses in blossom, as far as the eye could see. These bright roses under the sunshine can be as brilliant as the stars populating the sky.

The memory of those fields of roses was the reason why we chose, as distinctive sign of our cultural association, the name: Campi Stellati ("Starry Fields" in English).

With these good auspices, the choice to make art with the mind turned to the routes of the stars appeared to be a predestined one.

With gratitude and admiration to those who began the studies, the inventions, the technological landing places and the education of those brave and bold individuals - explorers of today that dare to go only where fantasy used to dare. Also, we, the people of the Starry Fields, have dared to stop to reflect and, as heirs of eternal travelers, we have found again the challenge to the vastness of the seas and the lands of those in the poetry that wins the history.

Our thoughts turned to the Argonauts, to Jason, to Hercules, to Orpheus. From the time of the Gods to the time of the Heroes, we found again Aeneas, Ulysses and many others representing the courage to cross any prefixed border, challenging the abyss, the peaks: and always envying the wings.

Icarus has been redeemed thousands of times; the illuminated reason and religiosity, always free from fanatical prejudices, have given further value to the faith in human resources.

For us artists, the voyage through the routes of the stars has value because it makes the person of faith approach the person of reason, so that they both together will proceed in the unavoidable journey to explore the unknown.

Of course, the space adventure generates homesickness in those who face it, but the nostalgia is not only that: the Earth that recedes, broadens the thoughts that, in that Earth, recognises the birthplace of the human beings and of the marvels that have enchanted the inventors of the myths.
